Footage filmed on Wednesday shows hundreds of migrant families from Central America being held in a pen beneath an underpass, in El Paso, Texas, as they were waiting to be processed by US immigration officials. The makeshift encampment was set up in a parking lot of a Border Patrol station, beneath the Paso del Norte Bridge. Footage shows migrants cramped in the encampment, behind fence and razor wire. On Wednesday, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Kevin McAleenan said that the immigration system on the southern US-Mexico border was at "breaking point" due to a recent surge in the number of people arriving at the border. In a bid to address the issue, US authorities have announced that 750 border inspectors would be reassigned to the El Paso area from nearby ports. Posted By Ghost
