A Grand Rapids police tracking dog suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash. The officer was trapped in the patrol car but was not injured, police said. The other driver fled on foot. The officer had to be freed from his vehicle by Grand Rapids firefighters. He was not hurt. The dog suffered serious injuries and his condition is being evaluated.
