The Corona Open J-Bay water-safety crew have had a busy week at Jefferys Bay on the Eatern Cape of South Africa.
This morning's (NZT) quarter-final between Mick Fanning and Gabriel Medina was called off due to the emergence of an 2.4m long shark within a 700m radius of the competing surfers.
While there was an absence of surfers taking on the waves on the shores of the Republic, the safety crew took over to perform an impressive ride on a large wave towards the end of the day. Posted by Abdul
