Eight students were left hanging nearly 100 feet in the air after the Iron Shark roller coaster malfunctioned on its vertical lift at Galveston's Pleasure Pier. Firefighters used a 105-foot ladder truck to rescue each rider individually, lowering them into a basket before guiding them down safely. The hours-long operation ended with no injuries
